In this video, we explore why maintaining a healthy water cycle may be much more important for the health of the climate than people realize. Although my position on Marxism has shifted greatly, I view that Marx's concepts of Commodity Fetishism, Theory of Labor and Surplus Value Exploitation are a part of our reality. The only thing I do not understand how can people support, private rights to exploit resources like Water, Minerals and Fossil fuels. These resources are limited, in my country bottling water and selling it has become a lucrative business , where Companies are awarded exclusive rights to Wells and Springs, and since it does not really cost much to bottle water (Pumping the water out, Cost of producing the plastic Bottle, Energy and labor) , the profit margin is very high. Add in , that these companies are close to government circles, where corruption factors in, the government water supplying agency either create , or does not actively solve the constant cuts and water quality issues so people who have bad taste for water with dirt and chlorine shift towards buying these bottled water, and sometimes it is even polluted with sewage, so the option is really taken out. I do not understand who had come with such laws, bottling water does not add much to the economy really, it is not a domain with big expertise, or employing people, add in the environmental negative effect of all that plastic. Instead of fixing the frequent water supply problems and installing drinking fountains in schools, universities and public institutions everywhere, you have people economically disadvantages people either drinking from the "faucet" or forced to reuse those toxic plastic bottle to be able to drink while outside. The social effect is ridiculous , we have now classism in drinking water, the rich and the well-off are well distinguished by drinking plastic water especially expensive brands, and the poor are ridiculed and socially identified by drinking from the faucets . I cannot wrap my mind around it, we have the money, we have a big coast, we can use sea water, and solve it and for good. Believe or not, one of my motives for leaving this country in the future is the water problem.

The Russian Empire was the world's leading grain exporter, they were number one and feeding the world. A few years later, when they became the USSR, the same land became the world's leading importer of grain, and millions still starved. Maybe believing the words of a lazy, drunken, failed writer with no real understanding of economics isn't a good idea.

I tried to run my company as a Co-op. It only lead bankrupcy in 2018. Here is the problem: Co-ops NEED workers that are NOT ambicious profesionally or economically. But also, Co-ops need to be EFFICIENT. Even more efficient that their Capitalistic competitors. I fixed the Efficiency problem in my small company, I invested in extreme development of skills for every worker. Yet I couldn't fix the Ambition problem. You see, each worker was working more efficiently, with more knowledge and more proficiency; which lead to Higher income expectations, which were met, but the Company's funds were depleting, and the workers didn't want to renounce their high sallary on an effort to save the company. Even more so, some of them just left the company to go work to other companies now that they were better at their work. That individualistic kind of thinking, which is a complete irresponsibility of the WORKERS, is what makes these kinds of endeavors not good. Today I'm a freelancer. Because I try to make a better world I ended up loosing my company which took 10+ years of making. Co-ops won't work unless PEOPLE CHANGE. We keep thinking capitalism is the problem... but it's people. People are the problem. They aren't ready for a revolution. They just want to consume and accumulate wealth. Otherwise, Capitalism would have ended, and everything would be awesome like your video described.

I support all of this EXCEPT that in reality, things go way different, for example in my country, workers TOOK THE MEANS OF PRODUCTION of an Airline company. All of the workers (pilots, airport staff, flight attendants, etc) starter working for themselves. They commisioned a directive and gave bigger salaries accross all workers. What happened 6 months later? THE AIRLINE WENT BANKRUPT. They couldn't make it work. That's what happens when people take the means of production: they are more focused on the paycheck they recieve at the end of the month, instead of trying to make the company work by spending less and producing more.

I am a member of a consumer cooperative here in Britain, and it is a very very well known national chain of stores, but owned and run by its members in accordance with its principles. A lot of people join as a member (for a £1 joining fee) to get discounts when shopping there but you also get shares when you shop there and a one member one vote system is used to elect the national institutions, lower down (at the individual store level) it is run pretty much like a normal business because as highlighted it is difficult to have a direct democracy on every decision. It also operates a principle of solidarity with other cooperatives, and small family businesses, wherein the national coop (as a larger business) sells its products to smaller coops and local businesses to help them out. Correct me if I got anything wrong, because I am only one of 1000s+ of members here.

This is by far one of the best videos explaining how nitrogen fixation works. I'd like to add that lightening adds nitrogen to the soil when nitrogen gas molecules are split apart by lightning, they quickly bond to oxygen atoms in the atmosphere to form nitrogen dioxide. This water-soluble compound dissolves in rain droplets to make nitric acid and reaches the ground as nitrates.

What if you use natural practices like cover crops and mulch where there aren't living roots, and cultivate healthy living soil but still want to add synthetics? is slow release or some other option viable for getting your trees/plants immediate N to build and grow or should organic fertilizers like blood meal and such still be considered preferential for the health of the soil and its longevity?

At 7:10….”the means of production is seized from them by force”. And there you go…by FORCE. That means with FUCKING GUNS and clubs and torches and fire like it starts to shows in the cute illustration, but doesn’t finish. It sounds so warm and fuzzy and fast and neat and clean when he says it, but the capitalist doesn’t get to run away like in the video, he is BLUDGEONED and SHOT and MURDERED by the violent hateful mobs, just like the MILLIONS of human beings murdered in Russia and China and every other place it went down. I challenge you all to look up Dekulakization, and the Holodomor, and Mao’s Land Reform, Pol Pot’s Killing Fields, and so many others, and see what it really looks like! Marxism doesn’t fucking work!

At 4:19…the question that reveals marx’s great scam, the device he deliberately engineered to generate hatred among the lower classes and create revolutionary converts. The answer to your question is that contrary to the tired and contemptful image in the video of the top hat wearing figure lying around in a chair, the capitalist, particularly in the case of smaller firms, is often working 70 hours a week running the business or otherwise occupied by its affairs. Marx, out of his hatred for the upper classes and his desire to spread that hatred as far and wide as possible and usher in his ‘revolution’, completely omits the contributions of the owning and managing classes, taking their missing share of the contribution and calling it his ludicrous and incendiary surplus value. He deliberately portrays the owning/managing classes as greedy leeches that contribute nothing to production, which is a ludicrous and hateful notion, an absolutely abominable sleight of hand. There is no surplus value! When you reintroduce the value of the contributions of the owning/managing classes to the production equation, it balances out and its clear where all of the value goes. Dont fall for marx’s hateful trick! Go think for yourselves and lets work together to find a true solution to economic inequality!

You were good until about 3:00 when you started making broad assumptions about synthetic nitrogen and saying that it "kills the soil" and "poisons the water". Yes it is important to effectively manage nitrogen application timing and sources to prevent overconcentration, leaching, and volatilization. It is wrong to assume that applying synthetic nitrogen will automaticaly lead to leaching, volatilization, driving away earthworms, killing bacteria, and ultimately killing the soil. That's like saying eating breakfast everyday will automatically make you overweight and you'll die of a heart attack. It is nonsense to jump to your conclusion and flies in the face of successful farm managers who effectively remove more nitrogen in the plants they harvest than what they apply through synthetic fertilizers. An improper approach to organic nitrogen sources can cause the EXACT same problems of imbalanced microbiome, soil ph, earthworms, and nitrogen leaching. Proper soil nutrition is all about maintaining a high level of balanced nutrient drivers to provide the best environment for growth. As an agronomist I work to help farmers use and time fertilizer sources(both synthetic and organic) that are stable and readily available for plant uptake, do not leach, and contribute not only to plant health but soil health, fungi, bacteria, beneficial insects, earthworms, and the increased availability of micronutrients. One of the key synthetic fertilizers our company relies on is designed specifically to drive the health of beneficial bacteria in the soil to in turn provide plant available nitrogen and phosphorous to the plant. Optimum plant growth is all about maintaining the right balance of all of those key players with their symbiotic relationships. It is wrong to assume that you can only do that with a 100 percent organic fertilizer program. In fact it is MUCH more difficult to maintain a high balance of nutrient drivers with a purely organic approach. The decline in nutritional value of our produce is 100 percent due to breeding programs that place an emphasis on higher yield. The nutrient densities in conventionally grown crops have been shown in study after study to be the same or better than those grown in organically grown crops. That is an oft-repeated lie that organic produce has a higher nutrient density.
